While we are alive on these earthly plains, we hold to certain conceptions of the world based on our ability to perceive and explain. Each species perceives the world differently according to its faculties and senses. As humans, some of our faculties are very dull when compared to other species. However our mental faculty is superior to most other species. And so the human world is a world perceived by six senses: sight, touch, smell, taste, hearing, and mental perception. The mind is capable of creating its own concepts of the world - memories, visions, assumptions.
Yet even with this sixth sense-the mind - the capabilities of our senses are so limited. How can we perceive the truth of the world with such limitations? It is so easy to create an illusory world that seems real, so easy to deceive our senses. If our eyes cannot even perceive all the types of light that exist in our world, how can we trust our physical senses? If our mind creates false traps and misperceptions, how can we trust our mental faculties? We must move beyond these boundaries.
