| It’S Now! |
|
All faculties can experience the now except the mind. The body can feel things in the present, emotions can be experienced in the present, the spiritual elevation is the present. But the inclination of the mind is to think, to analyze the past and contemplate the future. That is the way we are designed. The mind needs to be engaged when thinking, when contemplation and analysis are needed. It is not the mind's function to constantly process worries and doubts. It is not the mind's purpose to chatter and flicker endlessly. You must teach yourself to cease the processing of your brain when it isn't necessary. Simple actions, gradually, can bring you into the now. When you eat, eat. When you laugh, laugh. Be present and authentic about what you experience and you will get closer to the now. When in doubt, just ask yourself, "What is the time?" Don't look at a clock, find the answer within yourself or ask a tree or a passing bird for help, they will remind you. "It's Now!" |
