If you rest all of your hopes and dreams on the future, seeking and searching for happiness, you deny the importance - the natural state - of the present. You deny yourself true joy. As the Buddha said, "We never know which comes first, death or tomorrow." The best way to prepare for tomorrow is to live today. Remove yourself from influences that threaten consequences or promise rewards for abiding by unnatural laws, for succumbing to fear. There is only one action, one experience, one moment that is valid - live life fully and fearlessly now. Be present and authentic. |
