The box we live in teaches us how to feel, it determines our self-worth, it teaches us the man-made laws. It cuts our wings so we remain restrained and conforming, still believing that we are living in a free world, as free as a bird - a bird with its wings severed.
In India, elephant trainers will tie a baby elephant to a tree for periods of time. The young elephant tries very hard to escape. He pulls and wriggles and jumps, yet the rope just tightens and the elephant remains shackled to the tree. Eventually, the elephant stops trying to escape and accepts his confinement. A couple of years pass and the elephant has become an adult, weighing several tons. The trainer continues to tie the elephant to the tree with the same rope he has always used. But the elephant believes that the rope is stronger than he is. Trapped by his conditioning, the elephant remains captive for life. To break free, all the elephant must do is eliminate the one limiting idea that he has been taught. The cage door is open.
